Life Witnesses is about the lives and friendship of four women, shaped by a shared upbringing in Copenhagen’s suburbs. Their pasts are marked by violence, abuse, addiction, failure, and profound neglect. They are each other’s only life witnesses, bound by a connection that has lasted 25 years.

Now in their 40s, the characters live ordinary lives where their friendship has begun to fade. Life Witnesses unfolds over a weekend as they attend a reunion at their old school. Deep secrets resurface, simmering conflicts come to light, and they must confront both the issues dividing them and the past that binds them together. The friends are forced to face themselves, their friendship, and whether they can remain life witnesses to each other while moving forward. This emotionally intense scenario features confrontational arguments and explores life’s challenges that cannot be escaped.
